Can a pinched nerve or knots in the neck cause severe headache? Just got the blood patch done on the 15th. Still in incredible pain. Burning, pressure, pain in my head. Desiderate! !!!!

Hello, I use to have severe headaches that leads to migraines and it lasts for few days,i thought that it was probably just because of my poor posture from sitting too long in my office or looking down on my phone too much. Then one day i decided to see a doctor and he put me on Topamax medication for 6 months to treat my migraines but it didnt work. When I had an MRI done, the doctor found out it was a cervical disc slip that compresses a nerve causing the neck pain and tense muscles and they lead to my migraines. So my answer is yes.

Yes it can cause headaches but may be worth trying cold pack around the neck for ten minutes followed by a heat pack to help the pain and hopefully relax the muscles and nerves. Trapped nerves are so painful so I hope you get sorted soon. X
