Sciatica

Doctor tells me I have athiritis of the spine which is hitting my sciatic nerve I'm into my 7th month of non stop pain when I read up on it it tells me that sciatica lasts for 6 to 8 weeks I've got it in both legs so can anyone tell me why it is lasting for so long

You need to see a chiropractor. They may help remove the problem or give you a sensible opinion to take back to the doctor. Tumours can give sciatica type symptoms. Have you had an MRI scan to check that everything is as it should. Arthritis can be a brain problem which prevents good control of the muscles. Blaming the pain in the muscles on arthritis prevents someone from doing the work to improve muscle usage.

Ihave you been checked for axialSpA? I am undergoing tests to determine if that is what I have

Have you had an MRI scan? I had sciatica, ended up in a wheelchair. MRI showed I had a spur (bone) growing between nerves. Had the spur shaved an no more pain - wonderful!!!
