Hi all last week I had severe nerve pain in my back down to my knee. I was given codeine, diazepam and amitriptyline. I was in agony so my doctor sent me to a and e. I was given a scan and they have me morphine for pain. Scan. showed nerve inflammation they said it would settle in a few weeks. Pain was unbearable. Anyway I bought this little machine called sciatica plus. And it has worked!!! I've only been using it for 3 days and the pain is just about gone. I can walk about now and haven't got that terrible pain. I paid 40.00 quid for it. If it doesn't work for you or your not happy you can get a refund. Just thought I would let you guys know of this. X

Hi the little machine is called sciaticalm. I went on the website and read the reviews etc. It also explains how the machine works and what sciatica is. You use it up to three times a day for ten minutes. It has worked for me and I am so relieved , I've never been in such agony. If you go on sciatica UK website you get all the information on there.

Hi..Think i might have to invest in one...i have unbearable pain at times -pain from OA and nerve pain from lumbar scoliosis/mild stroke was given a TENS machine that didn't help.had first nerve block treatment Feb and need another desperately but appt not till 13 July...today i can't even sit down on the loo...the only cure for me is to literally knock myself out with pain medication for couple of days so my body almost shuts down to get any relief..this also then impacts me emotionally..have to call in sick again at work... thats another hurdle..

Hope you and all here having a better day..

Just a suggestion here. I hadn't been able to sit for 3 weeks by the time I was prescribed Gabapentine for nerve pain which actually was really very helpful, but the biggest help was then going to a reputable and very wise Osteopath who sorted me out in a few visits. Turns out I had a disc issue so bad I could only lie in the car on those first visits. She then said that the only real way to maintain control of your spine (and therefore the nerves running through it) is to strengthen our core abdominal muscles, and that means going to a reputable pilates teacher who will do a proper assessment of your particular issues. It all costs, but I'm walking and sitting pain free now.

Also, if you have arthritic damage like my hubby, there's going to mean some ongoing discomfort but even he is now going to pilates just to get his hip movement back. He's been stuck on meds for years, but is realising the impact on his liver and kidneys and wants to get control back. He is cycling all over town now. If you can get control of your spine's supporting muscles your spine will be very glad.

It has to be remembered that not all spine pain and nerve problems have the same cause. If, for instance, you have a foraminal issue such as stenosis then it is not likely to be healed by being kind to your spine alone.

Good point so it’s pretty important to understand what’s going on with you. Foraminal stenosis can also be triggered by arthritis. Medication, gentle walking and either yoga stretches or Pilates stretches will help bring some ease.

Never push through pain and know your body

Thats why its so important to diagnose via xray and MRI.....with stenosis, no chiropractic but stretching and more stretching exercises......core strenghtening also.

hi guys new on hear but really am after some advice. Having had a stiff back since Christmas around 3 or 4 weeks again I started getting pains in my hip and down my leg when standing, was relieved by sitting. The only way I could walk was by leaning to one side. That is not the case now. Tables seem to have reversed Im having pain, like a trapped nerve when sitting (but almost need to find it but when I do ouch) when I stand up its not a shooting pain and almost an ache that goes down the side of my leg not the back (which is typically what im reading Siatica does) and pins and needles too when standing after sitting or laying down. Any advice
