I hate these days when I'm full of energy, Like it for the reasons that I get loads done etc...It's when I haven't got things to do. I try to fight the urge to get up and go, but it seems to make things worse.
Would like to hear what you guys do.
Thanks

Hi there. This sounds very much like a boom or bust cycle. I used to be exactly the same . It's something that you need to work on or else it will continue.
What happens is you feel good so over do things. But if you don't do them when you feel good you then get overly stressed that you have not done them
Therefore continuing the cycle.
I found it was about trying to separate things out into groups. So the things that really did need done from the things I just thought really needed done. So say your whole house needed
A spring clean. You would need to figure out which rooms stressed you more. Maybe your stressed if it's not tidy and you get visitors. So therefor start with rooms visitors would see.
Then don't stress about the rest.
It used to bother me alot but I have been working on stress relief for a bit
And in the grand scheme of things is it more important I have a spotless house or am I more important.
Just used housework as an example you can apply this to life in general.
I also used to go and help others on good days and would never say no.
Learning to say no and how to explain why not is less difficult than you think
Simply im really sorry I can't help today I'm really in alot of pain . The tricky bit is that this again will cause stress so learning how to deal with that bit can
Continue the boom or bust.
There are many different techniques
Both mental and physical for distraction relaxation etc etc.
There may be chronic pain group in your area or look online .
Most techniques can be learned but you have to be patient with yourself.
Consider yourself very lucky that you feel energized. I feel tired and exhausted with no energy at all. I feel like this all the time so please send me some of your unwanted energy.
I've learnt to knit. I'm dreadful for getting up and doing too much then paying for it next day. I've recently started writing a blog which takes time to research and (hopefully) get right. I can also do it when I'm bad and unable to get moving. If I'm not too squiffy on painkillers!
