See an Alexander Teacher. You need to be able to get out of a chair more efficiently. A lot of people try and get out of a chair before their centre of gravity is over their ankles. Result a lot of pain and damaging stresses on the knee.

In the first instance, if you haven't already done this, speak to the surgeon. If he's happy, it might just be a question of waiting longer for it to heal. Sometimes we expect things to improve too quickly. Sounds like the Alexander Technique advice is worth a try too, although I know next to nothing about it. All the best.
