If you put the word inversion in the search box, you will find some answers there. I've not used one myself

hi rocky1 inversion tables are great for lenghtening out the body and allowing the vertebrae to seperate and fill with the natural fluid that is in there after we have been lying down for at least 20 minutes. so even if you didnt have a table lying on the floor in semi supine for 20 minutes is very good you need to have your chin level and not pointing up to the ceiling or to far down to your chest and you could maybe put a couple of books under your head to keep it lever. using your imagination think of your spine lengthening and your lower back widening. its helpful to imagine that your lower back is smiling. this is all part of an alexander technique i learned and do regulary. keep a nice blanket over you and close your eyes. put your hand on your hips and your elbows will point out to the side. just imagine that your collar bones are widening. you want to widen all your back and lenghten all of your spine. thats just a litle exercise. the inversion table is great for me i have not been able to use it for some time because of a major operation i had. im missing it so much. i used it mostly for sciatica and it worked in one session as the person on the table is hanging by the feet and all of their weight is what is helping to lenghten out the spine. i dont know about your back pain but if its okay with your doctor and i would check this out first as you dont want to make things worse. if he says okay then i would highly reccomend this its so relaxing. you dont have to go right upside down. it takes time to gather the confidence to do that. or it did for me anyway. you can even rock back and forth on it and that will also help. you will feel your legs moving out of the hips a bit its a great feeling as that is one of the places i have lots of pain. im looking forward to getting my table out again. they are not that expensive. mine was about £130 or something. its not hard work to keep up as your not having to do any exercise all you do is lie and relax and enjoy while getting all the benefits. please google it and see all the benefits of inversion tables. all the very best if you do get one please come back and tell us how much you'v benefited from this as many people need to know about this simply thing and how much pain relief it brings. do first check with your doctor. love grace xoxoxo
