Neck Pain after car crash

I have cervical spondylosis - just over a week ago I was injured in a car crash where I suffered whiplash. Since then the neck pain has increased greatly - my insurance company is sending me for physio - but could this crash, a rear end bump, have made my condition worse?

It could certainly aggrevate things.

Just over a year ago somebody drove into the side of my car and aggrevated a long standing back issue. Like you my insurance company paid for me to go to physio. Didn't matter that back pain was longstanding. It was really helpful seeing a private physio that on my own I couldn't have afforded!!

Hi, some years ago I had a rear shunt similar to you and went for private Physio because it got got worse as time went on. And I was helped with the type of Acupuncture which goes into the muscle area rather than the meridans. I also had what I think was called ultra sound treatment on my upper back, neck area. For me, I needed the treatment longer than the average. ( I've never been average !) it was certainly worth every £

Hi Mike I too have cervical spondylosis. I've had it for 25 years and the thought of you being in a crash makes me feel I'll. You must have been In so much pain. Have you got a soft collar to wear for a couple of days? I find it helps but only wear it for a short time. Also if you could sleep in it it would help your neck while you turning in the night. Heat helps me but cold helps some people too. I have the microwave heat wraps. Don't waste your money on the 8 hour heat patches advertised. They don't get hot. Hope you find some relief. Take care
