Hi could anyone help me i recently fell from about 6-8 feet from scaffolding and landed on my wrist with my full body weight which unfortunately is quite a lot.
I went to the hospital where they did a x-ray and told me its not broken but it is extremely pain full and difficult to move

Try keeping it rested on something that means your elbow is lower than your wrist to ease swelling. Use ice cold/ice packs wrapped in a tea towel on the most painful part for no longer than 15 minutes at a time and no shorter than 30 minutes in between. Really gentle & slow movements to stop it seizing up. Regular paracetamol; every four to six hours but no more than four doses in 24 hours. If you can take ibuprofen then take that in between the paracetamol to keep a constant analgesia effect going; again no more than the recommended dose in 24 hours (and only if you're eating & drinking).
Other than that, it's a waiting game until the pain subsides. Did the ED department not give you any advice at all? Or have I just repeated it all?! If after a few days with the above basic treatments, the pain hasn't diminished or it remains swollen, it may be worth going back to your/a GP to get it checked out again as an x-ray isn't always 100% correct although I'm sure the hospital would have carried out a thorough check.
You have injured it, so it will be painful. It is only if the pain doesn't start to subside on its own or remains intensely painful for too long, that you really need to be thinking about further investigation or treatment. Right now, all the tissues will be bruised and probably inflamed (which is why ice and ibuprofen and keeping it raised a bit are useful), so you really can't do anything much except give it time to recover.
Soft tissue damage can often be more painful than a break. In days gone by a cold wet crepe bandage applied would help reduce swelling and ease pain. Probably not PC now.
Like Rayjayc I am very surprised A&E didn't offer advice even on pain relief.
You said 'recently'? If more than a week I would go to my GP and ask his help.
Yeah thanks they told me to rest it and take regular painkillers thr usual paracetamol and ibuprofen but they don't work never have done to be honest but oh well
give the ibuprofen a good go. It isn't a very strong painkiller as such, but its an extremely effective inflammatory - if the pain is coming from inflammation, then ibuprofen is one of the best types of meds to deal with inflammation - and that will reduce the pain.
If more than a week see a chiropractor. You hit your wrist when falling, but I doubt that it took your full impact. It is quit possible that other bones took the impact driving into the neck. Why do I think this - you did not break the wrist.
It is possible that you are getting referred pain from jarred root nerves and slightly misaligned neck vertebrate.
You can get 'Immobilisers'- that literally stop all movement, of whatever they are attached to. They normally 'do up', with strapping-of some type. It might be worth a try. Sorry to hear about your fall.
Hope that you feel better soon (Sorry if that sounds 'twee')
Thanks Andrew im going back to hospital on Tuesday with and unrelated injury but when im there i willnask about it thank
Sometimes, if you land on the palm and the wrist is pushed upwardsyou can break a small bone in the wrist, Potts Fracture ??, this can be missed by Xray. If you have pushed the wrist upwards when you fell various tendons can become stretched in the palm below your fingers, they will need to recover. May have the name wrong, although the bone/tendon is there
It's possible you've torn muscles and ligaments and these can take a long time to heal. It's also possible that a hairline fracture can't be seen on X-Ray because of the swelling. I would suggest going back to your GP if it's not getting any better. My brother tore muscles in his leg after playing 5-a-side. He ended up with a blood clot, which was drained, then boils appeared on his leg and he had also developed cellulitis which required an intravenous drip of antibiotics.
