Hi all I have now been told that I have CRPS in my right foot and I am now waiting to see if they are going to operate on it and all my meds have gone up. Still waiting to some from mental health
Crps: Hi all I have now been told that I have... - Pain Concern
Crps
Hi, I've also got CRPS, and have been diagnosed now for 2 years (having suffered for a lot longer than that undiagnosed)
What operation are they planning to do? Is it to try and control your CRPS?
Hi I have had crps for just over three years and I so understand the pain your going through but I don't understand what the operation is for ?
I was told that wouldn't operate under any condition to to it eather making it worse and opening a can of worms or increasing the risk of it moving to another area.
Mine has moved from R knee to L kee and now Dow to both ankles .
Please be careful !
Hi chawner
I have got to have a operation on my right foot because I can no longer put the heel down I am walking on the front off my foot so I have got to get the back of my angel operated on so I will be able to put my heel on the ground and on my powered wheelchair I will not be able to walk on my right foot again
I really hope everything goes well for you and that you keep i. Touch and let us know how it goes. When are you ha I g it done.
Operations on CRPS sufferers should only be carried out to save life. According to Professor McCabe's unit at Bath any operation is virtually certain to cause it to spread. My first spread happened when a specialist touched my arm 4ins outside the affected area with a sensitivity pin. Went from hand all the way up to elbow
Hi kevscar
I had my left arm amputated because of the CRPS I have it in my right arm and now I have it in my right foot the operation I am having is the back of my ankle because I can not put my heel on the floor also I mite have to be operated on my left shoulder that's because I had a car crash in 2013
Try and put it off as long as possible. One of the thinks I am fighting to get is for them to use me as a guinea pig for a procedure which might allow the ops with no risk or possibly be a cure
Cure? Don't think so. CRPS changes your cell structure. Hopefully not but the complexity of the disease mirrors cancer. I think if even a treatment that suppresses the syndrome would be a great achievement. So far, the only relief comes w opies. Unfortunately, the Govt is taking them away
If by luck, any of you in the medical profession read these posts pls pls pls,...
understand that this crap is brutal 24/7 and quite scary for us with Dystonia as well. Dystonic storms are like an out of body experience. It's hard to process such a horrific situation.
