I'm experiencing shooting pains up through my fingers and sensitivity on my skin. My face, arms and thigh's. This can be very uncomfortable and irritating at times. Even a loose top resting on my shoulders can feel very uncomfortable!

Any suggestions as my doc thinks I'm crazy.

The finger pain is becoming a real pain.

No one thinks you are crazy here.

It could be any one of a number things and not being a doctor it isn't easy to diagnose.

Is it painful, sore, itchy? Any rash? It could be repeatative strain injury, RSI,if the tingling was either side of your middle finger.. A trapped nerve in your neck or an allergy.

How long have you had it and has your Doctor done any tests or referred you to see a neuroligust?

Hi, no! No warning or past injury. Its like little electric shocks starting from under nails straight through my fingers. Its happened on and off a few years back but it happens quite often now

Also no referrals as my doctor said he's never heard of it. Its sore when it happens, and my hands curl up momentarily, but goes as quickly as it starts , x

So because your doc has never come across it before he says it's nothing? Change your Doc.

It sounds like a nerve or nerves somewhere. Like an electric shock?

Ypi cou;d have done something without even realising. Very possible.

Go back to your Doc and insist if he has no idea than you want to see someone who has. Whatever it is clearly has not gone away.

That's why we have specialists!

Hopefully someone on this forum will come up with a different answer.

Thanks Paton.

It's so annoying and very painful at times, I've been very fortunate never to have broken any bones up til this day!

It can happen anywhere, also I've found that if I'm holding something like a pot or pan I have let it go because all strength and control goes from my hand and wrist xx

That sounds like a trapped nerve. Possibly in your elbow ot even you neck. A neuroligust can ascertain with simple nerve conduction tests.

I have one in my neck and it causes probelms when it feels like it. Shooting pain up side of my hand and drop whatever I am holding.

Cos it is my neck they can't do anything but ech cae is different.

Ask for a referral. At least you can ctoss it off if it isn't a trapped nerve.

Don't fill pans too full and use both hands. It may help.

Take care

agree with above comments, but also try to remember if you had turned your neck or back whilst doing action e.g lifting pan, or if you had put any pressure against skin, particularly the wrist or elbow. This may/would indicate nerve problem. xx
