I have been taking tramadol caps 50mg x 8 a day. My doctor is changing me to tramadol 200mg slow release every 12 hours. I have heard this is more effective, any views welcome. I am also having trouble with my sleep, is this because of the tramadol.

I do know that Tramadol makes me a little restless. I try to take it long before bed.

Hi,

I take the extended release Tramadol and found it far better than the 50mg caps. It hasn't given me any sleep problems.

The extended release Tramadol sounds better than trying to remember to take the lower dose at set times each day. I find they make me restless too like others I take them earlier but find sometimes they cause sleepiness next day.Good luck with the changed option hope it works for you.

I've been on tramadol 50mg x8 daily for 12 years! Not heard of the slow release. Tramadol can cause nightmares, disturbed sleep but I've been ok. If you're coping with tramadol otherwise, I suggest some over counter sleeping pills. I take them every now and then .good luck.
