Hello, I am type one diabetic, 62, in good health until March when I hurt my hands from “over use” while moving.

Dr says it is tendinitis. I basically don’t do anything with my hands, everything I do hurts, waiting for them to heal but is getting worse. Now have burning on top of hands and joints hurt and ache. Had a nerve conduction test done and an Electromyogram 6/27 and waiting for results. Feeling scared of what might be wrong and not being able to support myself, let alone the meds I already have to have. I’m hoping I can find solutions from and support from Heathunblocked. I’ve never posted before and sure if this is too long or how to do this. I guess it is time to learn new things and maybe a whole new way of life. Still waiting on test results.

Hi Kim, thanks for responding. I tried to load a pic of me in the little box and it did not work and I think it is showing in the body of post real " BIG", right now I just need help getting it off and put in the right place. Any suggestions?!? as I have done this b4 and really not very computer literate. Do you think it will show up like this every time I post?

Look up acetyl L carnitine + diabetic neuropathy , also phosphatidylserine . B vitamins are also good for nerve pain and alternate hot and cold packs. Good luck. Sheila

Hi, thanks for the info, I looked up what you recommended and will try. I had a b12 shot last Thursday and the pain was a little better for the first 3 days but now hurting real bad again. Hoping for some kind of diagnosis on Fri.!

Hi there.

I believe that this could be the beginnings of neuropathy. It is a condition that is quite common in diabetics, unfortunately mine started 10 years before being told that I had diabetes. In the beginning my toes started to tingle slightly and then got worse and my feet couldn't tell if they were hot or cold. This feeling then went to my fingertips and has gotten gradually worse and worse. I was sent to a lovely, understanding neurologist who did all the electro tests and confirmed long nerve neuropathy in both legs and arms. It is very painful and very difficult to cope with ie shoes that fit.

Get yourself to a doctors and referred to a pain clinic or neurologist.

Sorry that I can't give better advice but ihope that this has been useful

Ps having a warm shower or bath does help sometimes.

Hope u getvthe help that you need.
