Total fed up and don't know what to do.

I'm so fed up with everything health wise. I saw my GP yesterday for results,he's a nice man but I might as well have stayed at home.

I had a rheumatology appointment a month ago and was expecting a letter from that but no they must be waiting until I've had a scan of my feet before deciding on the next step. (no pun intended.)

I asked him about other issues,Migraines,neck/shoulder pain, and others all of which he had no answer for.

The one thing he could tell me was that the liver scan I had has come back clear, along with the bloods. I had my gallbladder out two years ago and recently have been getting a lot of pain in my right side, bad enough to wake me in the night. So the tests have come back clear,no further action. Why,where do I turn now??

Sorry to moan but I'm at the end of my teather. :(

You need to ask the GP that question. Its up to the two of you to get together to work out the next step. Go back to him and say - we need to make a plan. Is it about pain relief, further tests, Physio or waiting for rheumatology? Docs tend to deal with one problem at a time and go through an elimination process with each symptom which is frustrating when you have a number of pain sites.

Thanks Calaeolaria, Yes you are right.I have another appointment at the beginning of June and nice as he is,I think I must take the lead here. I showed him a copy of a post I put on the NRAS site, where I almost walked out of a consultation because of the lack of concern shown. Looks like it's his turn next.xx

I would go back and ask to be checked for Fibromyalgia. It sounds like so many of my symptoms. If he can't help you ask to be referred to a pain clinic. It's made life bearable for me. Hoping you get some relief soon sweetheart. I know how it feels to have so many unanswered questions. I have a question for you, I know it will sound kind of crazy: but bear with me, look at your finger nails and count the half moons near your cuticles. I only have 3 out of 10. I once read that it was a sign of Fibromyalgia. Hope this helps. xxxx Mitzi

Oh Mitzblue, what a nice reply. Pain clinic might be an answer. I've just checked my finger nails.Never been able to grow the finger nails and they have no moons. Thumb nails are much stronger and have moonsand also horizontal ridges.xxx

I'd say you have it then. I have small ones on my thumbs too and another small one on my first finger on my right hand. My nails have always been thin and ridged. Let me know if you have anymore questions sweetheart. I feel your pain!!! xxx Mitzi

Those half moons are funny, aren't they? I wonder why we have them. I never notice them unless someone remarks about them.
