Hi Nikki,

I am sorry that you are going through it at the moment, I just found it was easier to go with the flow and rest, but I was like it pretty much all the way through chemo (twice)

sending you love and best wishes x G x

Hi Nikki,

I found the same as Gwen, the fatigue was disabling, all I could do was rest and sleep and watch a bit of telly. I hope you have family support who can run around after you, it makes a huge difference.

I know that some people can even return to work durring chemotherapy, some just seem to be able to carry on as normal however, there are different types of chemo and I expect we are all affected quite differently by them. Just take it easy for as long as you need to sweet lady.

I found that I started to pick myself up about 5 days before the next treatment, I was so glad to get it over with. Hold in there, I did see light at the end of the tunnel.

Love with a hug from Tina xx

Dear Nikki

I'm afraid I agree with Tina and Gwyn. The reason is probably depleted blood cells and that's natural. It means the chemotherapy is working on the cancer cells too.

Let yourself feel tired. Sleep, dream, read a bit and be spoilt. Hopefully not too many to go now.

Loads of love and hugs xxx Annie

Hi Nikki, I agree with the others. Your body tells you what it needs, and you go with the flow..... I am on day 4 and feel very tired, and my sight is hazy, which affects my balance to some extent, normally it clears up by day 6, Stay in and rest, especailly in this weather!!!

Good luck

Hi Nikki

I agree with everyone else. All you can do is sit back and let it get on with it! Every so often try to summon the energy to make a p of tea......unless you can get someone to do it for you. I found there was nothing else I could do.

Good luck

Chris

Hi Nikki

I was extremely weak after about the 5th/6th week. I agree with the others - just try to go with the flow, although it can be frustrating not to be able to do much. I think part of the problem for me was that with the weekly regime you don't get the relatively "good" third week, though I tended to have one or two days which were better.

How many have you got to go now?

hi monique what a lovely name am having no.5 tomorrow but in all have got to have 18 weekly taxol, sometimes dont know if i can make it xx

I know the feeling - but you will! One more after tomorrow and you're a third of the way through. Hope it goes smoothly.

The way I got through it all was to go with the flow as Monique has suggested. I didn't try to do anything really around therapy because everything was so much of an effort and I got exhausted very quickly. I had chemo every three weeks and one thing that helped a lot was organising a treat for the third week so I had something to look forward to. Good wishes are sent to you from me. x x

I agree with everyone, just go with the flow. Have a couple of duvet days and really rest. Enjoy some reading and watch daytime telly. I think the day time telly programmes are sometimes better than the evening ones!!! Lol. As Tiinab says plan a treat for the third week, I'd too.

Hi Nikki

I agree with everyone else. You do need to rest and whilst you're resting, think about your future treats.

Love & best wishes

Hi Nikki,

I am sorry you are suffering so badly. I am on the same regime and have finished 10 weeks. I do have some weakness but mostly a toxic feeling , hard to describe more like a low grade hangover!

Have you checked your red blood count as that can account for weakness.? I get mine checked every week and the red cells are beginning to drop . Have you asked your oncology department about taking a multi vitamin supplement which contains a small amount of iron. Mine is fine with that.

Short walks and gentle yoga do help although you may not feel like it . Even if just round the block everyday is a great psychological boost.

Thank you Veronica I feel so low I will ask about a multivitamin I must admit in the past iI have had low blood counts and needed blood transfusions. Has your onc told you of the success of this treatment, mine hasn't said. Xx

Hi

My oncologist did not say but the registrar who consented me said 50 % . As my CA 125 was dropping last time checked I hope it is working .

Just had 5th taxol told nurse how weak I had been feeling she suggested when I see my onc. Next Friday I tell him as he may reduce strength of drug. I do wonder if this will affect the ultimate result. Xx
