Dear Zuzi I've got a great juice book - will post later when I'm home. I'm currently looking for fresh wheatgrass as one of the recipes contains that. Any ideas anyone? The company that manufacturers my food mixer sent me a couple of unusual recipes this morning - I can't wait to try them out. I've pasted them below. I love trying out strange recipes - and the ginger in the Goji Berry Juice will do us all good!

xxx Happy Juicing!

Beetroot, Sweet Potato and Carrot Juice

A wonderfully colourful and vibrant juice to get you going in the morning. It's hard to believe that the juice of vegetables and an apple can taste this good! Makes 1 litre of truly delicious juice.

150 g sweet potato, peeled and cut in 3 cm chunks

100 g beetroot, scrubbed and cut into 3 cm chunks

200 g carrots, cut in 3 cm chunks

150 g Granny Smith apple, stalk removed (no need to remove core or pips), about 1 apple, quartered

100 g Romaine lettuce

¼ lemon

300 g water

Blend all ingredients 3 minutes/Speed 10.

Pour into a jelly bag set over a large bowl and allow to drain through or squeeze for maximum amount of juice - fine muslin can also be used. Serve immediately for maximum nutritional benefits.

Goji Power Juice

A zesty energizing drink. Goji berries are known to be one of nature's highest sources of antioxidants - truly a superfood. This juice is a wonderful zingy drink any time of the day - the ginger gives it a real kick! Serves 1.

35 g dried goji berries soaked in 50 g water for 1 to 2 hours

2 strips thinly peeled orange skin from an organic orange

1 "coin" of fresh ginger sliced 2 mm thick along the lines on the skin

1 stoneless date or 1 tsp raw honey or 1 tsp agave nectar

220 g coconut water or purified water

Blend 2 minutes/Speed 10.

Tip: Ginger is known for being helpful in clearing the congestion of a chest cold - so feel free to double the amount of ginger if you wish.

Hi! I don't know if there are any juice recipes in the book, 'The Anti-Cancer Diet' . I'm sure someone on here will post a link, or you can use the Search box. I know quite a few people have mentioned it. Happy juicing ......I have to say, I gave mine away cos I got really cheesed off with having to dismantle and clean it all :-(

Hope yours is a better model, mine was quite a while ago

Is that the one by David Servan-Schreiber? I'm reading that at the moment - really interesting, poss not as this one has no recipes but a lot of research...?

I think so, You're probably right. I haven't read it. I just thought it would possibly have lists of foods that were good for anti-cancer earring. Maybe then include some in juices ..... Maybe not though..........

Hi Suzana,

I juice quite a bit but some of the specialised ingredients are difficult to source up here in NE Scotland, I mainly juice carrot, apple, beetroot, cucumber with lots of spinach, again like a lot of people I get fed up dismantling the juicer to clean it. Recently i started taking Green Superfood, which is a concentrated juice formula of alkalizing grasses, veggies & sprouts, 1 teaspoon in 8oz water daily, available from pHion Balance. I also invested in The Rainbow diet Book by Chris Woollams which I found to have a lot of down to earth common sense advice - basically eat the whole colour spectrum of foods to have a healthy diet. I felt that this was something I could do myself and cant say whether it helped me or not but I have come through two cycles of chemo for PPC, carbo/taxol and taxol on its own and my bloods didnt drop too far and I didnt suffer from some of the more debilitating after effects of chemo, I may be wrong but I think it helped even though some may say its all in the mind - cynics.

Good Luck

Joanna

Hi suzana

I have Jason Vale's " the juice master, keeping it simple" it is not a specific anti cancer book, but has a large selection of juice recipes, all using fruit and veg, Some of the vegetable juices are delicious.

most of the time though I just throw in any fruit that I have and it is always delicious!

Love
