Its been a long time coming but at last on the 14th December I'm going back to work. I had my back to work interview today and passed with flying colours. I think offering to work Christmas Day helped. I must say I'm looking forward to going back to work and feel ready now as my scar is fully healed and I now feel fit and well.
I have to admit I am glad I took ten weeks off work. I never thought it would take that long to recover from a debulking op and two more chemos but it has. I am doing most of the housework now at home apart from hovering which my husband does.
Just want to say to anyone having a debulking operation soon, please take time to recover it does not happen over night.
If you feel tired rest if you cant managed to get out of bed just stay there.
I plan spending the next two weeks getting fit by walking and maybe a little bit of zumba.
Love to everyone

So glad you're getting so much better, Babs. It was really lovely to meet you the other day Just remember your own advice, you still need to take things a bit easy! You have done soooooooooo well, since you first came onto this site. I can remember speaking with you for the first time. What a journey, heh? All the best when you go back to work. I know you've got a lot to do over Christmas, but enjoying your work is a big plus. They sound a really nice crowd there. Keep letting us know how you're getting on
Yes they are a good crowd at work and I'm sure if it gets too much for me I will be allowed to go home early. I got up today and felt so well the best I have felt since October when I had my op. I done housework today without feeling tired and have to say enjoyed it. I will let you know how I get on when I start back I will feel like the newbie but hopefully will soon get back into the swing of things.
I'm glad all's gone to plan. I must say you look really well and fit for work but please do keep a check on how you feel. Are you going back on a staged return or just straight back in there. I almost feel I don't need you to answer that one!
You'll enjoy getting back to your work place. Enjoy - and let us know how you're feeling.
Hope you got home okay after your trip to London. Think you know me well and yes the answer is I'm going back to my 5 days a week. I was offered to go back just a couple of days a week but I feel I'm ready now to go back to 5 days a week. If its too much I will drop a day but as we all know December and January are busy times in restaurants so lets hope I can cope.
Great news babs, glad to hear you are doing so well. Hope it all goes well for you. Kelly xx
Good news. I will never forget working in a restaurant over Christmas. We ran out of turkey. The owner cooked up some pork, gave a round of free drinks, slathered it with 'gravy' and served it up. Nobody noticed.
That made me laugh ! I will remember that if we run out of Turkey at Christmas. I love working Christmas Day it saves me all that shopping and cooking Christmas dinner.
Love Babs x x
That's amazing, congrats -- you will be able to feel like rejoining real world again I suspect!
If only we could see a pic of your husband "hovering" it would make my day though!
Hope all is going well with you. What is it with men and hovering its a bit like cooking on the BBQ they seem to think its okay to do hovering. I actually hovered today as my husband was at work when he got home he said " I was going to do that " I felt as if I had done something wrong.
So glad you're feeling well and that you're looking forward to going back to work.
Did men become more interested in hovering once Dysons came on the market? Maybe some enterprising inventor can come up with a high tech bathroom and toilet cleaner that will tempt the male of the species to clean the stuff usually dealt with by the cleaning fairies
