Low residue diet, has anyone done this?

Had op to remove everything including cancer but had complications such as bleeding a lot so chemo was postponed. Clear cell 1b grade 3. Now they recommend the diet as I have bowel probs so has anyone tried it, and I am a Coeliac so that involves another diet.

Hi Winner I have been on a low residue diet for 3years as I got radiation enteritis after treatment. I stick to chicken and don't have veg apart from soft carrots. No fruit with skins on and no salad which I really miss. Over the last year I have been a bit more daring and eaten a few things like red meat and so far so good. When it first happened I was very poorly but now I usually end up in hospital only once or twice a year.

Lucy.

Thanks Lucy, I seem to have lot's of adhesions and scar tissue from my first op total hysterectomy. Then 10 days later I had to have a laparotomy to cut a hole through the hard adhesions for my bowel to work. Now after numerous scans and tests but no chemo yet and a tum looking very pregnant they still cannot find the obstruction. They say that my tumour clear cell has a tendency to send out seeds but while I have a little bleeding on and off they cannot give me chemo.

Hi Winner,

I see you haven't had many replies to this question, it might be because there are not many people are on a low residue diet, so haven't got an answer to it ......another thing is that when I clicked on to your question I coudn't open it straightaway... I had quite a few attempts at opening it ?? I don't know why? Anyway please don't think that we don't care as we do and you are very welcome here... If we can't answer your questions...we will still try an offer support...I hope you are managing your diet...you can always ring the helpline if you feel you still need answers... they are very good in offering support and are a great help...the tel number is 08453710554. and speak to Ruth Payne ( the support nurse)

I am sorry I can't be any help with your diet...But hope you are ok and I am sending you my love and best wishes x G x :-) :-) :-)
