I was told, by the lead consultant at our local hospital’s gynaecology oncology dept, that the CA125 is not always accurate. It can be absent as a marker or give falsely raised levels sometimes. It’s sounds as if your medical team are covering all the possibilities. I hope you’ll be ok after your op. It sounds as if your medical team are looking after you well.
my CA125 was always very telling and accurate, but I know some women’s are not. You’ll have to look at trends if it’s decided you must go down this road.
I was diagnosed last year with stage 1a GCT and my CA-125 was normal throughout. It is not a good marker for GCT. Inhibin an and b are more indicative. Good luck with the surgery and happy to chat after. If it is GCT there are UK (and Ireland) and worldwide Facebook groups specifically for GCT, as it is one of the rarer Ovarian Cancers the usual management does not really apply. Its groups are UK GCT survivor sisters! and GCT survivor sisters! Xx
