My mum has had her first recurrence after 11 months. The cancer is in her liver and peritoneum now. I’m terrified. Looking for anything positive people can tell me.

Hi, my mum has just finished chemo for her 1st recurrence, she was diagnosed in Oct 21 with stage 4 HG OC and was NED after her first lot of chemo. Her recurrence showed up in her lungs and liver and she started the same chemo regime in Nov 23. Her mid chemo scan was very positive with the liver mets barely visible and the lung mets considerably smaller. She has her post chemo scan on the 12th April, her CA125 has been steadily coming down throughout and her oncologist has mentioned Lynparza as a maintenance trearment. Although the chemo has taken its toll she has coped well and continues to live her life doing the things she loves to do, going for walks, meeting friends, spending time with family. There are lots of treatment options. I have found this forum such a great support, it’s really helped me to feel informed about the disease and given me hope for my mums future. Wishing you and your mum all the best on this journey xx
