It's only natural to feel nervous when having tests and an unexpected CA result. I know it's difficult, but try not to get too focused on them. I had scans two weeks ago so hopefully will get the results at my next chemo appointment on Wednesday. But if I don't, then I am no worse off than I am now. It's not easy as we all have so many ups and downs but support is there if you need it. Sending you love and hugs

The good news is that you are being investigated further, so if there IS anything sinister going on, it will be found quickly and you will be "in the system". There are many other things that can cause a rise in CA125, including any inflammation in the body (even a cold) or menstruation in younger women. Hoping that it turns out to be a false alarm.

Hi Ty for your positive words ❤️

I couldn't just read and run, as you are reaching out.

In my experience, blood tests are different constantly, depending on what is going on in the body at the time of the test. One blood test cannot diagnose a problem, just maybe a good reason for your medical team to do some more investigating.

Also, the CA 125 test could be raised for so many reasons, and usually it is a benign reason, or that result might just be "your normal".

I won't say "try not to worry" because that advice isn't really that helpful. When a huge ovarian cyst was found on an ultrasound scan last year, I was terrified, so I know how you might be feeling.

I too had the CA 125 test along with a few others, and they came back normal which obviously was a huge relief to me. But at the same time, I had a blood test done that showed I was anaemic, but not because of an iron deficiency. The doctor couldn't explain it. It scared me a bit, but I repeated the test 6 weeks later, and my levels were back to normal, so you see, there really wasn't any reason for me to be as scared as I was!

The body is a very complex but intelligent thing, that's why I don't worry too much about a result that might be out of range from just one test.

I don't know if this will be helpful for you, but walking, yoga and herbal teas really helped me deal with health stress, along with a healthy diet.

I hope this helps and that your scan goes okay.
