I am new to this forum. I have had a lot of health issues over the last 4 years with my heart. During a PET scan of the heart the tests showed a "hot spot" on my ovary. The SUV is 3.9, the mass is on a 3.5cm ovarian cyst and is 1.5 cm soft tissue. I also had a CT back in 2020 that revealed a complex cyst on this ovary. My PCP made me an appointment with a GYN for ultrasound and consult. I am quite afraid it is ovarian cancer. I have been going crazy while waiting for this appointment coming up in 6 days. I am just trying to prepare myself for the appointment and questions. What questions should I ask?

Dear Gigioffour, Sorry to hear you are so stressed. Being in limbo is really difficult but you have not yet been diagnosed, so perhaps it will turn out not to be cancerous. Even if it is, there are wonderful treatments which are giving us all hope. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 OC, terminal BUT TREATABLE, nearly three years ago and am living a full life. I recently met someone who has been Stage 4 OC for ten years and is also leading a full life. Remember, the posts that you see on this website, understandably, will most likely be from people having a difficult time and there will be a huge group who are not posting because they are doing okay and do not have questions to ask of the forum. If you want to prepare yourself with questions, I suggest you take a look at the booklets on OC that Macmillan publish by looking at their website, and also at those published by Ovacome. Or give Ovacome a ring. They are very helpful.
Thank you so much for your response. I am just wanting to be prepared with questions and be ready for whatever I need to be I appreciate your input and will definitely look into those resources.
