When I felt like that I had a blood test which showed I needed a blood transfusion. this happened a few times. After the blood transfusions I was practically running out of the hospital and felt great.

Hi Cazy1010, the effects of chemo are cumulative, so you are likely to feel progressively more wiped out each time.

Chemo does produce a lovely variety of side effects, different for each person! If you can accept that you aren’t going to feel normal for a bit and that as long as you report side effects to your team as per their instructions you should be ok, it helps to manage your expectations.

You are more than half way now and sooner than you think you will be in that lovely period after chemo when things really do start to feel better xx

Thank you that’s what I thought !! My team just made sure that I was getting enough rest and fluids and not thinking I’m super woman !!!!!

Yes, I have, think everyone feels this with on going chemo. Rest, don't feel guilty if you don't feel like doing anything. Take care..

I am in exactly the same situation as you. Just had round 4 and I can hardly put one foot in front of the other today, no matter how hard I try. I’m just going to stay in bed and try not to worry. But as you say you do.

Hope you feel more energised soon xx

Depends on the protocol. Some are more prone to fatigue than others but fatigue is a normal reaction

Hi Cazy, Yes I went thru 6 Carbo/Taxol having a recurrence after 22 months so I'll probably be going thru 6 more soon. The 5th and 6th were the hardest on me I actually asked the ONC if I could skip the 6th she said no it was the magic number. However, She at me at full strength dose never reduced it maybe that's why I had such a long remission. I pretty much sailed through until the 5th and 6th then it hit me.

Hi, I'm the same, had no 5 over a week ago and I'm still feeling wiped out so as others have said we just have to Hold on in there. Report anything new though. I'm going for no 6 next week and I'm not looking forward to it but am in a way as hopefully that's the end for a while and can get back to my new normal. Good luck and don't give up

After nos. 4 and 5, I felt as if I had been run over by a steamroller. My oncologist said I looked wiped out! She lowered the dose (again) for the last cycle. Still here 17 years later, no recurrence!

Hi, you’ve broken the back of it so well done you and give yourself a clap!

The nurse extended my steroids for the last two cycles and it made the world of difference. It was only another three days I think and a reducing dose. Certainly worth an ask? X

I’m sure your team has told you that no questions are daft questions and you can discuss your worries however many times you need to with support from great teams like those at Ovacome and Macmillan. I’m just starting my 6th line of chemo in 4 years and can assure you it’s accumulative so each time you feel a bit worse, but your regular blood tests keep your team informed. It’s still ok to check in with them though. Don’t be too tough on yourself and set your pace, giving your body time to recover. Us superwomen need to power naps too! Take care. Good luck!🍀🍀🍀

I am the same! Just had my 5th of six carbo/gem and, though I was a bit tired with the others, this one has wiped me out! I am still working full though retiring on 1 September, and have to have regular naps in our first aid room. So difficult to pace yourself if you feel a bit better - I went shopping yesterday then did some light housework, and by the evening had grave doubts that I would be able to get upstairs to bed! By the looks of it, it's quite common - we are definitely our own worst enemies!
