Well after being really poorly with bowel problems. Latest Appointment was actually at the hospital . It’s all such chaos there with this covid thing. Anyway, there are a couple of spots on my liver and 2 lymph nodes are swollen so it has been decided to have a double dose of chemo GemCarbo starting on the 11 August, another in the cycle on 18th and then a 2 week break until the next cycle, with the hope that there is some improvement. At least I have options! Obviously not looking forward to doing it all over again but I will do what has to be done.

My bowel problem is a complication of the ovarian cancer. I am going to have to be extra careful during chemo. Maybe have a special diet. My consultant has given me morphine for when the pain gets too much. Have any of you had this combination? 💕 Gill x

Hi Gill. Ive had gem carbo. Perfectly doable. seem to recall it was like doing carbo taxol without losing hair. I hope things go well for you. Kathy xx

Hi Gill, I am on this regime, and I am about to have my third dose of carbo/ gem this Friday. So far I have found it ok and as Kathy said no hair loss although I was told hair could thin.

I wish you luck with this regime and hope you get good results

My Ca125 has gone down and I am hoping it continues that way. x

Thank you x

Hello Gill - I am currently on Carbo/Gem, I have had 4 cycles and it has reduced my CA125 and stopped progression. I have only had fatigue the first week after infusion, I then have two weeks feeling really well - my regime is carbo/gem every 3 weeks. Gemzar has irritated my apparent tiny arm veins, causing plebitus after each infusion, I had a PICC line put in for infusion 4 and all has been ok since. Lyn x
