any advice or anyone had a good response for second line treatment?
carbo caelyx: any advice or anyone had a good... - My Ovacome
carbo caelyx
Morning I finished carbo/caelyx in April on the whole I found it a lot easier than paclitaxel/carbo and I have had a good response and I kept my hair. Good luck with your treatment x
I started 4 weekly carbo/caelyx last August very soon after carbo/taxol/avastin. My hair had grown back and I did not lose it again but it is slight,y thinner on the crown. Side effects were minimal compared with taxol. ( a few mouth ulcers, brittle finger nails and sometimes sore feet). After 6 rounds I was NED and CA125 down at 6. I am now on Niraparib maintenance. Sending best wishes🙏💕
hi, I am just about to start on carbo/caelyx 3rd line. I had Carbo/taxol 1st line then just taxol second line. Only 1 period of NED 4 months.
My question is, you said you had this treatment very soon after your first treatment. How long was it?
I was told I was platinum resistant so wasn’t allowed Carbo so soon after 1st line.
Thanks for info and best wishes

4 x carbo /taxol/avastin starting Late November 2021. Debulking surgery March 2022.
Last 2 rounds of carbo/taxol/avastin 5 April and 6 May.
Had avastin alone June and July 2022. CA125 rising rapidly and subsequent PET scan showed spread, Started carbo/caelyx 23 August. So the gap was 3.5 months. This is the first time that I have been NED. My next scan is late July so keeping my fingers crossed - but I feel very well.
I really hope the carbo/caelyx works as well for you as it has for me.
Katy 🙏
Yes a good response. Then onto a parp .That was 3 years ago.xx
I’m starting it next week. Thanks for info
Good luck, really great responses from everyone. Sending love & hugs SheilaFxxx
I wish I would have a good response on Carbo_Caelyx (3-rd line of treatment), but unefortunately my marker started to go up. Therefore no side effects. I've been switched to Niraparib, but the effect was the same - progression. But every patient is different. I wish you good luck!
I had a good initial response and the treatments and side-effects were a lot easier than with Carbo/Taxol. Unfortunately for me, I then became resistant to Platinum so it stopped working for me. I'm currently on a trial drug which seems to be working so far.
Good luck x
