waterproof PICC covers

hello. I’m new on here. I’ve just finished my chemo and am hoping to go swimming again. I still have a PICC line in for my regular Avastin and would like a completely waterproof cover for it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi. I was looking for the same when I still had my Picc and was on Avastin. I went for a BLOCCS picc line cover. I didn't do loads of swimming in it, but I was able to go into the water more confidently that with my previous cover. You need to make sure its a really snug fit and doesn't get too warn. I've now had my line out and went to a pool for the first time properly yesterday - 40 minutes of swimming and the works after (jacuzzi, steam etc) - which was amazing! best wishes

thanks so much for your reply. So glad to hear about your swim day. My PICC is quite high on my upper arm which seems to ba a problem with covers. Best wishes

can I ask if you had any side effects from the Avastin?

Hi. My main side effects were getting tired more easily and some neuropathy. On the whole it wasn't too bad (I continued working etc, and doing stuff, going out etc, but I was usually really tired by about 9pm!)

Hello. Have you considered asking your team about having a portacath instead? You would be able to swim with this/shower more easily.

Hope you’re back in the water soon
