Hello everyone, I was diagnosed Stage4b ovarian cancer last March. I had chemo and debulking surgery and then started taking Niraparib in October. I experienced very few side effects which was good and I generally feel well . Just before Christmas my scan result showed there was something ,as yet to be fully diagnosed, on my mesentery. Further diagnosis of this is ongoing.
The oncologist asked if I had stomach pains . I hadn't at the time but throughout January I have been having alot of intermitent pain- griping labour type pains when I go to the loo in particular. These are gradually reducing . Has anyone else experienced stomach pains, constipation, bloating with this Niraparib. I am asking because the pharmacist said it could be side effects of this rather than being linked to the growth on the mesentery.
Many thanks

Hi. I've been on niraparib since the beginning of December, and the main side effect is constipation which is solved by prunes. I do have odd pains in my abdomen, back, under my ribs (which go away after a short time) but my Onc told me that my CA125 was stable, and it was likely to be the result of previous chemo (affecting nerve endings), the niraparib, and scar tissue from my operation, rather than progression of the cancer. Fingers crossed for you.
I'm on niraparib and avastin and I get niggles of pain but my hip and back 1 side have been painful since before the op do been to gp and he thinks it's muscular so booked me in for physio, honestly fed up of worrying 😟 xx
I took it for 2 years ,no stomach pain but many gastrointestinal problems, nausea vomiting heartburn. Mostly extreme fatigue, happy I took it ,but grateful it’s over .
