Yes. Ovarian cysts mirrors bowel related issues because often times the cyst (or mass) grows and takes up bowel space. Issues with the bowel are significantly more common than an Ovarian Cancer diagnosis. I think it's important to be your own advocate but don't let your anxiety take control.

Wishing you good health,

Kris x.

Hi. I would echo what Kris said. An advocate I work with says to ask your doctor to rule out ovarian cancer first (ie have a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA 125 blood test) just to be on the safe side. Xx

Hi Bambi

I’m sorry to hear you have an undiagnosed problem. This is stressful I know, and you will be wanting to know what your problem is and what can be done to sort it.

I had bowel cancer 12 years ago. It was stage 2 and I was fortunate that I made a full recovery after surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy. When I developed OC last year, I thought it was a recurrence, as there are similarities in the symptoms.

The fact that your CA 125 is normal is a very positive sign. Did you have a transvaginal ultrasound? The abdominal one did not show my OC. Is there a plan for you to have a colonoscopy now? I hope you get the answers you need, soon.

Best wishes for a speedy diagnosis!

It could well be polyps in the bowel. These are non cancerous and can be removed quite easily. The other good news is that should it be cancer, bowel cancer is one of the most easy to treat with the best outcomes. If your GP thinks it might be cancer he should refer you to a specialist on a two week wait appointment. Have you trying going to your GP surgery? When I needed to see a GP I attended the surgery at opening time and said I was prepared to sit and wait for an appointment . I got seen within the hour.
