had results of scan afater 3rd chemo and mdt meeting today, they say I have partial response to treatment so far and a happy with that but decided no operation yet, finish last 2 rounds then scan again then plan to operate 😅 in the meantime I'm still thinking should I get 2nd opinion from Prof Fotopoulou? I'm thinking to pay private for operation 🤔 do I wait to finish chemo? And lymph nodes next to my heart still enlarged anyone else had chemo then operation? If lymph nodes by my heart don't shrink what do I do? Thanks girls xx

Well that’s good news that you are responding to chemo… I waited till after chemo 4 for my surgery. I was told that having surgery boosts the action of following chemos because they can mop up microscopic cells and don’t have to tackle the big solid tumour sites. It worked in my case, I got a long remission. Perhaps this is something to discuss with the Prof? xx

Yes i will lyndy2 I was wondering where you'd gone lol 😆 new profile? The cns gave me my results as the oncologist is on holiday and I haven't met the surgeon so not sure how much shrinkage or if it's in a tricky area 🤔 the first scan showed just ovary,fallopian,peritoneal but the tumours were quite big 🤷‍♀️x

Hi I met with my surgeon the other day. I’ve had three chemo and they’re happy to do surgery next and then three more chemo. She explained that it’s best to have surgery once you’ve had a good response to chemo so that they can get everything out at once and not have to go back in. It’s unfortunate that you’re not yet in that position but based on what you’ve said I think it’s worth having the additional chemo before going to op. Good luck xx

Thanks ☺️ well I've got private consultation on Monday with Prof Fotopoulou to see what she thinks and I'll go from there, I just thought it was best to have chemo after the operation to get the bits we can't see xx

Good luck with your consultation with Prof C. . She will want you to finish any cycles of chemo you have left before she operates though. You are in the best hands with her, she is an amazing surgeon. All the very best. Please let us know how you get on.xx

Hi good luck I have stage 4 high grade ovarian how much is private consultation and anyone know how apply for trials I've had 6 rounds chemo after surgery lots side effects after feel OK at the moment see consultant 15th September don't know what questions ask and what expect only thing imm told will come back but don't know when trying get on with life while I feel good can't plan anything or do I and hope for best any reply please

Well I think you've done all you can already! Had the operation and chemo's so if I was you I would plan and do everything and enjoy it!!! 😉 I got Prof Fotopoulou though hammersmith imperial hospital London initial consultation is £450. Goodluck with your results xx

Aww that'd awful, really sorry sending you a big Welsh cwtch!! I think you should get in touch with overcome support, I had telephone appointments and I found it really helpful! They help with questions you may need to ask and other things to help cope xxx
