I hope you kind ladies can yet again give me some hope! My mum saw her onc today after finishing 6 rounds of just carbo ( had just carbo last year first treatment ) scan shows already growing and now in liver basically hasnt worked! She has been offered Anastrozole to see if it can stablise it or even shrink it? has anybody had any good results from it? They said this is really the last option not much else can try as another chemo probably wont do much and side effects would out weigh any good it did?! As my mum has only ever had carbo and obviously platinum resistant now why wouldnt taxol work? surely its worth trying, if side effects are so bad can always stop? Feeling very upset and desperate. Any advice would be very helpful, thankyou!
p.s My Mum has stage 4 high grade serous endometrial cancer ( Parps are not available for this type of cancer)

Hi Cobweb2I am really sorry to hear that you and your Mum are dealing with this situation.
As always, information is your friend….
So your questions about Anastrasole deserve an answer and about taxol too. Is there someone in your Mum’s team that you can talk to?
The Ovacome helpline is very good and can help you to think about what you want to know and how/who to ask.
A second opinion is can be useful particularly from a specialist in your Mum’s cancer type.
Are there any trials she could do?
I don’t know about endo cancer but it seems to me that you need to find someone who does. Even if what others say is not so encouraging, you need to know that every option has been considered and that there’s a valid reason for treatment decisions. Very best of luck to you and your Mum, I am sure she is glad to have your love and support xx
Hi. I can really sympathise with your mum's situation, as I find myself in a very similar place. I have recently come off Anastrazole, as after several months my cancer was progressing. I am now about to start weekly Taxel as a last ditch treatment, but the oncologist isn't very hopeful!I agree that Taxel would be worth trying, or possibly Caelyx. Perhaps you need to have a conversation with her oncologist.
I just looked at Cancer research uk site and they have following trial : A trial looking at the drugs defactinib with VS-6766 for all cancers (FRAME). It includes endometrial cancer. I’m not sure if it’s the right one for your mum as she may need to have a certain genetic makeup. You could mention it to your oncologist. Second opinions are also available to you.
Wishing you and your mum a positive treatment plan. X
