Covid protection during chemotherapy

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed in 2020 with stage 3C OC and I had debulking surgery followed by carpotoxal chemotherapy which finished in July 2020. Since then I have had my covid vaccine plus 3rd and 4th booster. What I'm wondering is I've had a reoccourance and had my 1st chemotherapy, same as my previous regime and wasn't sure if this had now undone my vaccinations, so I'm now unvaccinated.

No you are not unvaccinated but I would think you are entitled to jab 5. Have a chat to your oncology team…. if you have one of those times during chemo when all your blood levels take a dive, then having a recent booster comes into its own xx

Thank you for your reply yea I'd already been contacted for my 5th but my last one was February so I'm sure they said I'd got wait till August for my 5th but I will get thst double checked when I have my review next week before my 2nd cycle. I've just found out my brother in law,has tested positive and I was around him even though i sat outside whilst he was in the house with the patio doors open mainly so that's what's made me think about it

Hi I had my last one in February and they are now saying have your 5th which I had 2 weeks ago. Don't forget there's new strains around and the longer your vaccine was the weaker it becomes, better safe than sorry. Take care Sue xx

Hi there.Yes I had my booster last week ,and my last booster was end of January 2022.Now zIm on a parp inhibitor. Just take along some proof of your current treatment. Worth checking with your chemo team,as I was advised when to attend last time I had a booster while on chemotherapy,in late January. Was advised to go for the booster towards the end of a chemo cycle as my immune system would be improved, ,but clearly everybody is different,so check with the professional,.You shouldn't have any difficulty getting your jab , though often best to make an appointment if you can.Definitely acess it .

Thank you. I've been online to book and it gave me this Friday but like you say it's prob best checking when I go for my chemotherapy on Monday or speak to my oncologist if he calls to do my review prior to monday before I book it

That's brilliant. Sure you'll feel more confident about it once you are well informed and have a clear plan.
