Sinus problems

Hi everyone just wondering if/ when my sinus problems will improve. I was given Avastin with 4th and 5th Carbotaxol chemo. Since then I have had a runny nose, blood in the mucus and occasional nose bleeds. My oncologist was not too concerned. No Avastin on my 6 th chemotherapy as I am now waiting for for debulking surgery on 9th February. My runny nose has not improved and I am going through boxes of Kleenex!

Has anyone else had this and does it improve or go away?

It’s funny to realise how much you develop unwanted expertise on this journey! So yes I had sinus and nosebleed problems on Avastin which have got better but I am still liable to get infections. I discovered nasal douches with salt water and these have pretty much saved me every winter since!

I have a syringe with no needle to get water into my nasal passages but you can get a Netty pot (like a teapot for your nose). You can get various solutions, cream or spray but actually good old salt water does the trick xx

Thanks Lyndy. I did get some Neilmed sinus wash off Amazon which was recommended by a colleague so will give it a go and see what happens.

Yes! Bloody noses, lots of mucus, blowing nose a lot, all due to avastin. It got better over time and I just wrote it up to the price of doing business with avastin.
