Hello…. Did your sister have an operation or is this chemo her first treatment? I am just wondering if her sickness might be an infection or possibly a bowel blockage. Either way, I think she needs to get help and advice from her oncologist.

If she has an emergency chemo line number to call then she should call, if not call her oncologist. Hope she feels better soon and can start chemo xx

Hi lyndy. No operation yet. Hopefully after 3 chemo bowel tumours shrink then operate also hope chemo shrinks cancer in ovaries etc. Yes if no better will ring cns. Has been admitted twice before with bowel blockage xx

Constipation can absolutely add to and even cause her nausea

Drink lots of water tons

Watch the diet

See and talk to the doctor ASAP

They should be able to help her

It’s important she gets to that first chemo treatment

Hi super Mary. Yes I've told her to drink plenty otherwise she dehydrate. Sooner treatment stars the better so as to hopefully shrink bowel tumours and stop the obstructions. Just hate seeing her so poorly x

Look up a low residue diet (ie low fibre) and try that for 2 or 3 days. I think she needs to contact her cancer nurse or oncologist for advice. Best wishes x

Hi yes she was on low residue diet couple weeks ago before biopsy. Now they said to eat what she wants so as to try and put bit of weight on. But not eating due to being sick. Be glad when chemo starts so as to shrink tumours then hopefully nausea will ease off. Going to speak with cns tomorrow xx

Hope your sister is ok by now as I see you posted three days ago. I was going to suggest she asks to try a different anti sickness med. I had mine changed for the same reason. I rang the Clinical Nurse Specialist assigned to me and she sorted it for me.

Hi tillymint thank you for responding. She spoke to cns and they said to stick with it as things will get better when she starts chemo next week. They said she will be injected with steroid and antisick and antihistamines efire the chemo. 3bwks chemo then 1 week off six sessions in all. Hopefully scan after 2 sessions then operate on bowel. Chemo hopefully shrink tumours in ovaries. Peritoneal etc... She said she can't feel any worse then she does at the mo. I hope all is going well for you xx

Wishing you both well. Although it is really hard to do if you are being sick trying to eat through it with small amounts of bland food. Xx
