How does losing one ovary affect your body?

Hi I recently had an ovary removed because it was cancerous, does anyone know how it might affect hormone levels? I’ve tried looking but all the information is for when you’ve had to have both ovaries removed

Having both ovaries removed has a powerful impact on the body, especially for pre-menopausal women (I was one!). One ovary being removed shouldn't make a big difference as the remaining one may be able to compensate for the missing one. Ask your doctor if they recommend calcium supplements or any other medication or dietary changes.

Hello Blue-bay, all I can add is to ring the Support team at Ovacome on their freephone number 0800 008 7054. They will either have the knowledge or be able to find out for you.

Warm wishes and enjoy living with one healthy ovary 😀 x
