Went in for my 2nd treatment today on Doxil which went well. But my CA 125 went up from last month from 59 to 198. From reading articles and even this forum it seemed pretty normal for going up, plus I got my first Covid shot 2 weeks ago.
Was wondering if this has happened to anybody else and when did you see your numbers drop?
Thank you again for all of your insight.
Cheers,
Shelly

I haven't had doxil but when I had carbo/ caelyx for first recurrence my ca125 rose while I was on treatment. I wasn't given results untill I asked about 5 months in. When I started chemo it was 78 and after penultimate treatment it was 200 and something - not sure of exact figure but it had gone up. I was also having lots of problems with side effects and this may have had a bearing on the numbers. I knew treatment was working as scans bore this out. For other reasons I was having very frequent followups and my ca125 started falling dramatically even though I had finished treatment. It continued to fall to almost normal parameters and scans continued to show shrinkage and some nodules disappeared completely. We are all different and respond differently to treatment and this may be reflected in ca125. Incidentally when I had my first treatment after surgery I was never told my ca125 until my first follow-up after treatment had finished. It was 8 and for all I know it could have been 8 since surgery as they removed everything they could see and more from what I was told. So be patient, the numbers might get worse before they get better. 🤗 Jackie
Hi Shelly, I’m on Doxil also. I also had my first covid vaccine between 2nd and third round and my CA125 shot up 30 points I’ve now completed 5th round and CA125 done right before is now down 40. I actually did a kind of poll on this chemo and vaccination I think you can find it in my post. Let me know if it comes down with your next test <3
Next Friday I have my 2nd shot so not really going to sweat my next CA 125 until that is all complete. Will let you know of my next test results. Thanks!!!! ❤💙💜💖💗
