Anyone have any experience of the PROMPT clinical trial using pembrolizumab? I have been put forward to apply for it at Barts.

Hi Lockygill,I've just been looking a the trial info. online. Its a small trial involving immunotherapy and it looks interesting. Is this your first recurrence? What did your Consultant think about it? I'd go for it if I could or do you also have other options such as a Parp?

thanks,

Hi. I had a reoccurrence nearly 2 years ago after 5 years clear. I had another op and chemo ever since. I am going to go to the appointment at Barts next week and see if I am suitable and if I am, I’m going to go for it. Nothing to lose x

Is that because you're platinum resistant? x

Hi Lockygill, I see you are in the UK so I am not sure if you are aware of a lady here in Ireland who fought to be given pembro as it was not licensed at the time, here in Ireland for cervical cancer patients. There is a long story to her case as after getting clear smears she has terminal cancer & she fought & won a court case here. I don't think I can put her name up here even though it has been well published in the media but you might be able to Google it to read about it. Anyway after she received pembro she was even able to travel abroad on hols, have a great quality of life with her family for over 2 yrs on it & feels it was well worth getting it. Unfortunately now more tumours have appeared & she is on a trial in the US at the moment, I think it's pembro 2 to try & gain more time with her young children so hopefully it will work for her again. Even though she was on it for OC I hope this helps in some way in your decision to apply for it & if you do I hope you get on it & it goes well for you. Please keep me updated , all the best Xx

Looks interesting! Shame it is only being trialed in London hospitals at the moment - I'm in Wales otherwise I would ask about it.
