Red face : I had my first chemo on 5/4/2021 but... - My Ovacome
Red face
I found the first few days after chemo (Carboplatin) my cheeks are quite rosy. The nurses at the vaccine centre all remarked how healthy I looked. I wear makeup anyway so I didn't find it a problem. The redness disappeared after a few days.

Hi there
I had a red flushed rash on my face after carbo/taxol.Apparently the taxol can cause this I was advised to take an antihistamine which helped.I was also advised to check for a temperature which you would need to let your hospital about if it was raised.Mine only lasted overnight.
I remember this happening too, it lasted a few days, generally the 3-5 days I felt really rough with the chemo, but then went, hope it all goes well for you x
I had the same flushing for a couple of days I remember but it went on its own. Xx
Oh yes, I had red face and neck the redness will go away in few days. I would put cool wet rag on face to help with the heat from it. God Bless you Pat
Hi,I think it’s the dexamethasone (steroid) taken during and 3 days after chemo , goes when you stop taking . It does burn , but no residual damage ,

I get a red face after chemo but think it’s the steroid that is the cause. Usually goes away after a day or two. I thought I should put on my fitness gear and trainers when I go out and people might think it’s because I had a good workout. Some hope! They definitely keep me awake and make me irritable! My poor husband will vouch for that!
Yes I too get a red face and look ike a belicia beacon. I am afraid all I do is apply humour to the situation, offer to light up the room/ act as a torch but I do like the wearing exercise clothes suggestion which I will be doing from now on! It's not great but it passes. Hoping all else is as ok as it can be xxx
I too had this, I understood it was the steroid infusion I had that caused it. I looked the picture of health but sadly didn’t feel quite as rosy. The pink cheeks do fade and you go back to your lovely self. Well done on the 1st infusion, that’s the scary one out of the way. Good luck with the rest of them, you got this ❤️xx Jane
Mine was like that after every chemo session but it only lasted a few days. It now happens every time I see the sun, even with factor 50 suncream. Sorry but I have not found a solution x
I had a red rash on my cheeks with my first two chemos. My bones hurt so bad that I could hardly bend my knees. The Dr. lowered my dose of Zejula from 300 to 100 mgs. The 300 dose was too hard on my kidneys. I don’t have that rash and pain in my bones since they lowered my dose. That could be your case as well. They just need to monitor your blood tests. Hope you do ok, Donna xx
