I’m 2 chemo sessions down and apart from the hair loss and fatigue I’ve not really had any other side effects. However the last couple of days I’ve been getting pain in my lower left abdomen (funnily enough the side where my tumour is) and wondered if this is ‘normal’... makes me wonder if it’s the tumour acting up as it’s being attacked by the chemo? 🤞🤞 x

Is pain ‘normal’..?
Yes, I had this after each chemo session. It was worse after the 2nd and 3rd infusions and I’m pretty sure it got less painful after that. I was told that it is a result of the chemo doing it’s thing, I’m not sure if it’s true, but it helped me to think of the cancer being ‘zapped’ by the chemo!
Good luck with the rest of your chemo, be kind to yourself and rest up when you need to, Emma xx
I had pain when I had my chemo when I was first diagnosed down in the pelvic region and abdomen. I wondered that too and it must have been the chemo attacking the tumours because when I had my scan after three monthly sessions my CA125 was significantly lowered and my oncologist said I'd had an excellent response to the chemo and went ahead with the debulking surgery. So it could well be the chemo attacking the tumour.
Hi, I felt quite well too after my first few Chemos, but I also had pains quite random all over especially abdomen. I also had pains around the area where my tumour was, I was told this is the chemo doing its work. Ive had 4 chemos now as op was canx on 4th Feb, hoping for next month. Meanwhile my CT Scan showed the tumour had shrunk in size, also a lot of nodules on my omentum too. Hopefully the chemo is working well for you x

Hi. I had abdominal pain during chemo as well, but while the surgeon said that's residual pain after the debulking surgery, the chemo nurses said that's definitely chemo "doing it's thing." I just put up with it (like we put up with everything) and I can say that nine months now out of the last chemo and the abdominal pain left a long time ago. I had to keep reminding myself that I had had major abdominal surgery and that of course my middle was going to hurt now and then!
