Just started on my third week on this PARP and I am going mad with itching. Did take a antihistamine last night which helped but dont like taking these regularly. My arm is the worse affected. I do use antihistamine cream on this but it only lasts a couple of hours. I use an ice pack first just to try and stop it. Another thing which I wondered if caused this. I had bloods taken and a lump appeared in my arm. A nurse told me the needle had punctured the vein and the lump was most probably blood that had leaked out and had no where to go (basic description) and my arm did start itching after that and gradually became worse after I started taking rucarapib. So wonder if a nerve had been damaged. If anyone has experienced this would be good to hear how they coped.

Rucarapib itching
Sorry, Lizzieanne, my itching was caused by drugs on a trial but the solution was thick emollient creams available over the counter, I think. Good luck and I hope it brings you some relief Gxx
Just wondering if Eurax might help? It's over the counter.
My Oncologist said E45 cream, which first of all made the itching worse, but persevering, it is now much better. The other thing I was told was not to use anything that is perfumed. I hope this improves soon for you.
Thanks Caleda dont use anything perfumed. Been put ice pack on arm then antihistamine cream. Has helped. How are doing?
I am ok thank you. Have you had any other side effects? When do you get your blood results?
Low white blood cells and anemic waiting for CA125 results. See oncolgist week on Monday. Get queasy and don't feel me. Are you taking a lower dose still?
Yes I am still on the lower dose at the moment, When I collected the prescription from the hospital pharmacy they had given me 2 containers of 60 tablets in each, so I have told the Oncology pharmacist and she said just take them for another month, but guess it will all hang on my CA125 Result on 28 January. Sorry you are not feeling to good, maybe they will lower your dose due to your bloods. Taken care.
Hi Lizzieanne
I am not on a PARP but had something similar when my blood was taken, I had two little lumps appear and a itchy rash. It lasted about 48hrs. I put sudo creme on it which did soothe it.

If you're talking about the zejula I start on 200 had to go down to 100 a lot of bad side effects for me but not necessary for everybody else I've been I want a 100 for almost a year and it kept my numbers slow down my c125 but after that it didn't work anymore
Hi LizzieanneI had bad itching and a bright red face for days 3-7 (ish) when I first started Olaparib. I took Piriton (which wipes me out) for a few days and then my body got used to it. Fine since. Obviously consulted with my team about doing that. Hope it remedies fast.

Yes Piriton wipes me as well. Trouble is have a feeling it could be to do with when the nurse took my bloods and think its caused damage to a nerve in my arm as itching is from elbow down to wrist and the lump comes up and goes down. Difficult to get anything sorted with the virus. Dr has photo of the lump. Hope will get some thoughts from onco!ogist
Hello
About 6 years ago I had some itching and some ladies on this site recommended Pawpaw Ointment. I bought some on line and it helped.
Funnily enough I have recently had an itchy face (nothing to do with chemo drugs) and dug the Pawpaw out again and found it very soothing. Might be worth a try.
Hi, I'm not on this drug myself, but I would call your medical team and let them know. When I was in hospital after my debulking operation I developed a red rash on my upper arm after they'd taken the bloods. The nurse got a permanent marker pen and drew a line around the area and kept an eye on it. The rash did go away after a few days. The penned outline of the rash looked very phallic so it became a source of entertainment on the ward for the nurses! 🤨
