Carbo/Gem

Hi everyone

I just wondered if any one has been in carbo/Gem. I’m due to start in the next few weeks and wondered what the side effects were like. Many Thanks

Hi Jonich,I have recently finished 6 rounds of carbo/gem , and I found it easier than carbo/taxol. Did have a day and half where I felt really tired,but apart from that not too bad. It has worked for me and I am about to take a parp inhibitor to try and keep the cancer back.

Thanks so much for replying sounds hopeful... I was on a parp inhibitor a few months ago but it was too toxic for me ... hence the new chemo regime take care Jo

I forgot to mention that you don't loose your hair,but it has thinned a little.

Hi Jonich. I just finished 6 cycles of Gem/Carbo plus Avastin. I had minimal side effects. The week of Gem/Carbo, felt a little fatigued and my counts dropped quite a bit; Hemoglobin, wbc’s and Neutrophils. The good news is that my PET scan afterwards had “almost a complete reversal “ of disease. Best of luck to you and I pray you achieve great results as well.

Hi. My wife had this for 3rd line chemo. Was meant to have 6 lots but ended up having 8 because it worked well and she had very little side effects. Good luck.
