My ca125 came back today at 8600.
Just wondering if anyone else has had such a high number during paclitaxel treatment ?
Thank you in advance π

I am not sure it helps to look at the overall level... just whether itβs rising or falling. But donβt forget that sometimes it can go up at the start of treatment. Try not to worry xx
Hi Lyndy, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it's on the constant rise π this is my 3rd recurrence from ovarian cancer. Diagnosed in 2016 when my ca125 was 1050.
I have a CT scan booked for Monday and was just curious as to the numbers π I seem to be reaching some high numbers indeed.
Once again thank you for taking the time to respond. Wish you well x
Hi
Not personally but then again my second recurrence was picked up at 65. I have seen a lot higher so I get the impression it's not indicative as to the volume of any disease. After original diagnosis I went nearly 4.5 years in remission then had 2 recurrences within about 18 months. Don't despair though, that was 7 years ago next month (albeit I am on a PARP inhibitor drug trial) so as you can see anything is possible xx Big hug. Kathy xx
So sorry that it has risen. We all know how that. Feels and how trying it is to wait for CT Scan and then results. Praying that your scans show a different story. I am going to paclitaxel for a trial. This is my third recurrence in 3 years. Stay strong
Thanks for your reply I really appreciate it.
Wishing you all best wishes for your upcoming treatment π lots of hugs x
My consultant told me it was a rising trend of ca125 and not a single higher result. I was diagnosed in 2007. Was fine for nearly 5 years then had a recurrence
Since then I have had 5 recurrences all treated with different chemos. I am currently taking Rucaparib and this month will have been on it for a year. My ca125 yesterday was 31 having been over 900 before treatment

CA125 is unique to each person. As the ladies have said whether it is rising or falling is relevant and some people don't have reactive CA125. I hope you are okay and all will be well. Sue xx
Hi
My ca 125 was rising and falling during gemcitabine eventually I was put on taxol as gem stopped working, ca still rose during taxol but reason my oncologist stopped it was due to a bad reaction I have told my team I donβt want to know the numbers as find I spend more time thinking about my ca rather than focusing on more important things, I have now started on vinorelbine so staying hopeful it will give me a well needed break, hopefully the taxol will kick in for you soon, wishing you all the best

Ascites is so uncomfortable I had it drained at the end of May around 4 ltr it has stayed pretty stable although had an ultra sound last week Dr said a little returned not enough to warrant draining so hopefully chemo will do the trick for both of us

I was told my first CA125 was 25,000+. It was so far away from 35 I couldn't get my head around it. Later I was told that it was 47,500! All this was 3 years ago. Stage 4b. Last CA125 was 15, after chemo, surgery, chemo, surgery and now on Letrozole. CA125 varies from person to person and other things happening to your body. Best wishes
Thanks so much for your reply and I'm super happy things are going well for you. Unfortunately after extensive scans and tests I have reached the end of treatment and have around 6 weeks left to live. The cancer has reached my liver now and is marching ahead. I already have 3 recurrences. From ov to stomach, and all lymph nodes. My journey began 4 years ago with surgery and every other chemo been tried.
Wishing you all best wishes xx
