Here we go again!

I managed to get the first flight home from Portugal on 1st July. Since then I’ve been having all sorts of problems with my tummy. I have a stoma and it’s been unpredictable and painful. My CA125 has gone from 30 during chemo to 70 after chemo (prescribed Leterazole) and is now in the 100s. Obviously something is going on. Oncology have booked a scan but I feel much more nervous this time around. Hoping I’ve got enough in my reserve to fight whatever comes my way, but I’m tired. I’ve had 2 major ops and 2 lots of chemo. I know some of you have had several reoccurrences and have fought back. I do want to carry on.....

Hi there,

So sorry to hear your numbers are rising and you’re having tummy problems, hopefully the scan will give the team clarity and if you need more treatment then they can start it asap...it might not be a recurrence but if it is I’m sure there are options and possibly a parp after chemo could be suitable for you?

I see you’ve had a long remission before and you can achieve that again! Hold onto that and keep going you can do this, sending you tons of good wishes and positivity,

Liz Xx 💕

Thank you. I’m usually so positive but what with the threat of Coronavirus and Cancer, I have lost my mojo somehow!

Dear Locky,

Get that Mojo working!

We all get down when we find out we’re recurring, but you know you can fight this, even if it means being back on Chemo.

You can do this.

And you need to have that stoma looked at.

I am certain that your present discomfort is adding to your current mood.

Fortunately, you are getting that scan right away.

And don’t be afraid of the hospital. Everyone is masked and gloved and you will be, too.

Don’t be shy about expressing your belly discomfort . Perhaps you need to be in hospital to fix it.

At any rate, be buoyed by the quick response from your team.

Congrats for making it back from Portugal!

Hugs,

Laura

Hi, I'm new to this site and have just read your post. You seem like a very inspirational lady. Im sorry to hear about your tummy problems. Hopefully you will get answers soon and treatment if needed. It looks like I'm facing my first re occurence after 11 months. Waiting for a CT scan. Really trying to stay positive and still working which is helping to distract me. X

Hi. I’m sorry you’re having tummy issues. It must be weird to be home after your unplanned stay in Portugal. Good luck with everything. If you have to have chemo you’ll adapt but it would be nicer if you didn’t have to. Xx

I have been on a trial drug for 2 1/2 years and it makes me feel pretty grotty. Sometimes I have been worried that I’m losing my grit and determination and keep wishing for a break- but, like you, I want to go on- so on we go- onwards and upwards. Wishing you the best of luck if you have more treatment.

Hi, you have done this before and I necessary you can do this again. I know it's a blow but you met it head on before and you can do again. I see you say you've lost your mojo but you can get that back otherwise, lets face it, you wouldn't be here now. Big hug. Kathy xx

Thanks Kathy. You are an inspiration.....When it reoccurs it’s such a blow. Just when life is as good as it can get, another mountain to climb....

I know, and I know that devastating feeling but I truly believe you will find your mojo again, as hard as it is. It's an added strain at the mo with everything that's going on in the world xx

I really do hope you are soon feeling a lot more comfortable , not knowing what's going on is the worst ,once you know you will go into flight mode (excuse the pun) then you'll get on with it and fight .xx

You’ll get that mojo back - we’re all looking to find it for you.

Understandable you don’t feel yourself when you have these health concerns on your shoulders.

Hoping all will be ok but if it isn’t you’ve managed before & you’ll get through it again.

Be kind to yourself, take one day at a time & have a good cry if you need to ( may help to watch a sad film you love) release those feelings.

Take good care, Lynne xx
