Letrozole not working

Hi all,

My mums cancer returned after just 3 months remission. She has been put on letrozole, after 4 weeks it has had no affect on CA125 markets, the doctor said sometimes it can take a while to start working. Has anybody else experienced this?

Hi there, I don’t know how it was only 4 weeks after starting letrozole as it wasn’t tested for 3 months. It is usually effective for oestrogen receptive tumours. I hope it is for your mum. It’s early days and there are lots of different approaches. I am also using complementary approaches after reading Jane McLelland’s book How to Starve Cance and following her protocol.

I remember my onc telling me when I was put on Letrozole that it would take a few weeks before it really kicked in. Good luck and best wishes. Gwen x
