Anyone on Lynparza?

I recently started Lynparza. I'd like to know the experience of others who have been on it for a significant period of time. Is it beneficial? I've had surgery and 6 rounds of chemo for ovarian cancer, IIIc.

Hi I have been taking Lynparza, or to give it its other name Olaparib, in the form of a trial for 6 years, 1 month. I was already in remission when I started on the trial with a CA125 of 7. I am Stage 3 (BRAC2) and have had 2 recurrences since diagnosis in 2007. I currently have a CA125 of below 3 and have actually been in remission for 6 years 5 months this time. I take 300mg twice a day. I have very jfew side effects. Ask me how I feel right at this moment and the response would be 'I feel very well indeed'. So I would say that's a definite yes for whether it's beneficial. Have you seen the facebook page for those taking parp inhibitors, you will find a lot of information on that page too. Big Hug. Kathy xx

Thanks for sharing your experience with Lynparza and for the tip about the Facebook page. I will check it out. I'm BRAC1...I forgot to mention that initially.

Hopefully with you being BRAC1 you will get a good response xx

Really pleased for you that you are getting lynparza straight after first line chemo - hopefully it will prevent a recurrence. My wife Suzanne is determined to follow in Kathy's footsteps (she is also BRCA2 and has had two recurrences). She has been on lynparza since Oct 2017 and so far, so good. She is very well and keeps taking the "magic pills" as I call them. There were some initial side effects, mostly nausea and fatigue, but these improved with time. I agree with Kathy - definite yes, particularly as you are BRCA positive.

Thanks so much for your encouraging words...and best of luck to you and your wife.

I’ve been on it for 8 months. I felt very tired during the first couple of months but that could have been post chemo tiredness. I still suffer a bit from tiredness but I’m working and enjoying life.

The very best of luck with it. May it bring you decades of remission! 🤗
