Hi ladies

Not written for a long time as nothing much happening so Just an update. Had my appointment yesterday expecting to be discharged 5 years after borderline diagnosis. Ca125 had risen to 21 (16 when diagnosed) so not really a marker. However after rather uncomfortable tummy exam referred for urgent ct, got call this afternoon for appointment for scan tomorrow 😬. Keeping everything crossed it’s all clear🤞 Hope you are all keeping as well as you can be

Good luck for your appointment. Do you feel as if there is something going on or do you feel ok? Hope so much it’s the latter! Let us know how you get on

Love Wendy xx

Thank you Wendy. Feel ok in general , few bouts of bloated feeling but not constant like it was when I was diagnosed. Keeping everything crossed 🤞 so glad I haven’t had to wait for ct., most surprised when they rang today.

Hi Puddle. I sincerely hope that you have a clean scan. Congrats on 5 years! I'm almost there also, and CTs are also not a great marker for me. Keep us updated!

Hopefully, there is nothing amiss, but it is reassuring to be so closely monitored after 5 years.

Good luck today,

Best wishes,

Hi Jenny hope it's nothing to stress over. With original diagnosis what treatment/surgery did you Have? Recently diagnosed BOT do awaiting TAHBSO

in reply to Jacqui1737

Thanks for replying. I had Laparoscopic BSO, omentectomy and washing’s. (No hysterectomy). Diagnosed borderline serous. 1 year of 3 month follow ups

2 x 6month then yearly till this year (5th). If scan is clear🤞I will be discharged 🤞🤞

Why no hysterectomy? I'm borderline serous stage 1 malignant and one ovary already gone and tubes..

in reply to Jacqui1737

Not quite sure why, it was discussed in their MDT meeting and as they were sure it was borderline they went for laparoscopic rather than abdominal. Was told they would do it if I wanted, but I went with their advice.

Jenny thankyou..what age are you and what hospital was it please.just I have consultant on 18th so good arm myself wìth the facts. I wonder are there any other ladies had similar to your treatment as opposed to tah

in reply to Jacqui1737

I am 64 😱 I am in the Medway towns. Our local hospital has a bad reputation but I have nothing but praise for them. They have saved my husbands life on 2 occasions, and I cannot fault them with my treatment. Had my ct scan this afternoon, in and out in 35 minutes!

Hope everything goes well with your surgery 🤞

HI- CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT WASHINGS ARE? LEE

in reply to mupash

My understanding of it (in simple terms, ) is that they fill your peritoneal area with fluid ,drain it then test it for any signs of disease.😳

Diagnosed 1c mucinous ov, but had ascites and was told I only had a couple of weeks. Lucky enough we had private insurance and I got whipped in for a drain, then debaulking and total hysterectomy and 6 months carbo/taxol after.

Thank my lucky stars, but aware it may come back xx
