I am so sorry to hear about your poor Dad but this page is for Ovarian Cancer...health unlocked has lots of pages for different illnesses... so try to find one for colorectal because you will get responses from people who have similar symptoms xx
I am sorry to hear how poorly your dad is at this time. I have PPC/ovarian cancer but have had bowel involvement as many of us will have. I had a stoma fitted due to a perforation and then a s part of my main surgery had a double bowel resection too. I had problems with appetite , lost 4 stone and became very weak. I was referred to the dieticians at the hospital and they helped. I was also prescribed special drinks when I couldn’t eat with all the nutrients I needed. This helped with my energy levels until my appetite finally came back which it did about 6 weeks after surgery. I would ask for an urgent referral to the dieticians to see if they can help.
Dear Ruby . Sorry to hear about your Dad and hope you have made contact with others with bowel cancer .
I strongly suggest getting some high energy
Prescribed drinks from the GP for him and ask the GP if it might help having an antidepressant as he surely must be feeling very low with sadness and low blood sugar on top. After my surgery I lost all appetite for a month , but soups , tiny bits of fruit , etc did help.
Hi Ruby, sorry to hear about your dad. If you go onto Macmillan they have advice and support online for your dads type of illness. Your dad can "chat" to others with the same illness and you can get help in the family and friends sections for yourself.
