I had my 3 months appointment last week. I'm on my 5th recurrence. Some cancer on my right side has grown slightly, but some on my left side had shrunk a bit. I've been taking Letrozole for about 18 months now, & I'm carrying on for another 3 months, scan just before Christmas & next check up in the new year. Not ideal to spend Christmas waiting for scan results, but easier than being on chemo over Christmas. I'm hoping to stay on hormone blockers as long as they seem to be slowing things down & holding things back. Di

Sorry to hear about the recurrence, Di. I'm in Letrozole with Metformin, a combo some suggest works well for GCT. It's been good for me so far but is showing signs of letting the cancer break through, so like you I think I'll be having scans across the festive period and will have to think of adding in another drug perhaps? Wishing you all the best.
I found out I had recurred about 2 years ago, & have been taking Letrozole for about 18 months. I also take Metformin, but was prescribed that for my diabetes a few years ago, so that carries on whatever other treatment I have. Letrozole has been the best of the AIs for me, though I always get anxious, naturally, when I go for my scan results in case it is no longer doing its job. I'm sorry it's not working so well for you now, & I hope you get help to improve it. Di
That all sounds very positive. Looking forward to a peaceful happy Christmas is certainly what the doctor ordered. x
