Hi all, had my pre op yesterday so all set for next Thursday. Getting edgy now, silly I know but it's it's going into the un-known? Ovaries, cysts, appendix they can have them. Reading your post really has helped me and my family. Thank you all. Xx

Good luck, years ago I remember feeling as u do now, fear of the unknown is actually much worse than the reality, take it from a total wimp. Op on a Thursday, back home on Monday. Worst thing? the hospital food ! Take care and let us know how you get on, best wishes xx Kathy xx
Hope all goes well for you next Thursday.
Best wishes, Jenny x
I hope all goes well for you during the surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery. Going into the unknown is definitely scary, my surgery is the Thursday after you so I'm right here with you! Lots of love and positive vibes,
Emma xx
Wishing you only the best ❤️
Best wishes. You will be fine.
Good luck for your operation xx dont forget to pack your lipsil for dry lips in hospital and an old spare pillow for using to hug or pop in your back for comfort xx its useful on the way home too. Earphones and some music can help too to take you off somewhere else when you need to escape from the hustle and bustle. Forgive the advice if you have already had it xxx

It’s counterintuitive to allow people you don’t know to put you to sleep and then open up your body! But it’s like flying- if you dwell on the details you might not get on the plane but you would miss out on the destination... they know what they are doing, all you have to do is show up. Mine was nowhere near as bad as I imagined and I really enjoyed the recovery period at home ( no house work, no responsibilities!)
Best of luck xx
Good luck with your operation. I couldn’t wait to get in there sothat I would feel better- and I did feel better!
Take a nightie not pyjamas as I expect you’ll have a catheter fitted.
It’s not that bad at all. Rest up well after and sleep a lot, watch tv and recoup.
They made me get up and walk the corridors the day after, when I was sure I would not be able to move an inch, but I did, and kept doing it as it got me home sooner! Wishing you lots of luck and all that goes with it! oxoxox
As a person who has been totally terrified of hospitals my entire life, I had the debulking surgery last October, surprisingly it was not as bad as I was expecting. I came home on day 5. Being at home my mobility improved so did my appetite, the food in my hospital was really awful, take a few of your favourite snacks. We will all be rooting for you, Good Luck xx
Good luck with surgery. Remember to hold e. g. a rolled towel to your belly before coughing, and tell your loved ones not to crack any jokes the first few days after,or else.
Oh and I found peppermint tea helped me with wind.

Good Luck, pain killers are a wonderful thing, take whatever is on offer. You do not have to feel pain. It will be over so quickly. Positive thinking is a great tool to keep. As you will already be aware there is a wealth of help and advise on this wonderful forum. xx
Hi Lethargic1, I am pleased you have your op date and have had your pre-op. Out of interest did they give you some satchets to take take the evening before and morning of your surgery? They gave me some and it did help to keep hydrated and really well enough to cope with the anaesthetic and operation, even if it was a fairly long one. I was up and about straight away. It’s some kind of electrolyte mix. I think you always feel better when you have dates set out. I was like you......take anything and everything you need if you feel it’s affected. Didn’t help as back a year later but hey ho 😀
Sending you lots of love 💕 hugs 🤗 and positive thoughts your way, you will be fantastic xxx
