1 yr Anniversary of Diagnosis
Coming up to my first anniversary when life changed forever-a 'suspicious cyst' turned out to be Stage 1 High grade serous ovarian cancer found during a hysterectomy. I've had 6 cycles of Carboplatin/Taxol chemo, gone through being bald-actually losing hair everywhere(!), aching joints and fatigue, sore palms/soles, am out the other side in many ways and feel very lucky. Looking back though...
Two weeks after my operation, my car died and alternator needed replacing, my boy cat needed a major operation for a serious urinary blockage and I learned I had high grade serous ovarian with chemo recommended-a bizarre trifecta of life events, to say the least.
This site helped save my sanity in those moments of 3 am insomnia when all the 'what ifs?' were swirling in my head, with others asking the same questions , and the responses from everyone were so supportive, knowledgeable and often humorous-I am just feeling very grateful right now for everyone here past and present.
