Bucket list

Yes........., I have been thinking about this ever since my diagnosis and this morning I was lucky enough to get my hands on some Glastonbury tickets . My husband thinks I am mad and wouldn’t it have been better to have done this years ago . I don’t know how I will be next year but we all need something to look forward to don’t we ?. I am sure I won’t be the only 63 year old going for the first time . Hopefully my health will hold stable until then , bring on the mud !xx Julia

Hi Jules,

I’ve been meaning to do this for years now - I’ve obviously missed the boat again, but will try to get it done next year. As you say, we always have to have something to look forward to! I don’t know the line up for 2019, but I bet a number of them are over 63!!

Stay well and enjoy! Best wishes Ali x

Actually hadn’t thought of that , some of the performers are bound to be older than me lol.Dont actually know any of the line up , not much bothered about that just want to soak up the atmosphere .xxx

Elton John, Paul McCartney and Robin Gibb - none of them will see 63 again!! X

Good on you! I think it is exactly the right thing to do! Get yourself a really good tent and a sleeping bag and wellies of course, and if there is any wacky backy going around have some of that as well, apparantly it is medicinal for us OC sufferers. ☺ Lyn xx

Hi Lyn , Yes will definitely be getting the best wellies , The ones I have would be left in a pile of mud . Can’t wait now xx

Ooh Glasto is great fun. Agree though to allow yourself some creature comfort. I'd bring a slightly larger tent with stand up room.. like a family tent. Plus folding chairs and table. If you camp a bit up on a hill, you will have to walk further but won't be at risk of suffering a flooded tent if it rains. Maybe even consider a glamping option like tangerine fields, if they still exist. For the dedicated toilets and showers, if nothing else.

Or... If you are willing to go all out, see if you can get your hands on hospitality tickets (double the price), then you'll be able to access a quiet oasis, and nice toilets, between the two main stages when you need a rest. Prepare for lots of sun and walking, and enjoy :). xx. Maus

Hi Maus , I have actually gone for the glamping option , not the one you mentioned but probably very similar , it’s in an adjacent field and they run shuttles all day/night . I have ordered a “luxury bell tent “ which will have three beds in it . Facilities include luxury wash facilities/ restaurant / bar / spa on site . We will have to wait and see what it’s like but it must be better than any tent I could erect . Xx Julia xx

Wonderful, well done you! My daughter went a couple of years ago and loved it. I’ve gone to a much more sedate festival or 2 since diagnosis and really enjoyed them. You’ll just have to pace yourself and don’t try to do everything! Don’t forget the wellies and coverups!! (Thinking Bridget Jones aargh). It’s definitely so important to have things to look forward to, big and small.

Love

Fabulous idea, we need to let the hidden rock chick in us all out every so often. You certainly won’t be the eldest there I’m sure. Enjoy lovely ❤️Xx Jane

HI JULES if I had managed to get tickets you would not have been the oldest, I would have been 67 when the festival started. HA WELL I went to see my fav group for the 4th time in Manchester this year the Killers and I am sure I was onebofvthe oldest there and I loved it. CHris
