Thank you all for your wonderful & supportive responses to my previous post ‘Feeling overwhelmed’ you are all amazing.
My scan results showed both good & bad, good there are no new cancer sites phew but unfortunately the last 6 months treatment didn’t do anything and in fact the cancer on my peritoneum has increased. So they are going to start me on a 3 mth chemo treatment Gemcitabine ASAP.
So although not great news I have to be thankful it hasn’t spread into any vital organs or elsewhere in body.
Thanks again for your support I told my oncologist about this site & that I was very lucky to have a great network of family & Friends
Whilst the news could have been better it could also could have been so much worse and the fact that it is not is a reason to smile and hopefully has made you feel better than you were feeling before. Hopefully the Gem will do the trick. I have been on it before for a recurrence, albeit with Cisplatin and it worked. I hope it does for you too. Best wishes. Kathy xx
Hi Jan. At least in the peritoneum it doesn't bother any major organs, phew. The lesser of evils, for sure. Wishing you good luck with the new chemo. Xx. Maus
It’s a relief that there are no new sites👍 and I’m sure the new chemo will take care of the area on the peritoneum. Best wishes that is gives you great results.
Hi Jan, I’m so sorry it didn’t do it’s job but it wasn’t all bad news and hopefully the Gemcitabine will get to work for you. My prof thinks this forum is excellent (he spoke at the meet up in a London a couple of years ago), he likes that we are all able to help each other and thinks it’s a positive tool in helping us understanding our disease and being able to sympathise with each other in a way that the medics can’t because we do it from experience and they can’t.
